NONSENSE

A seriously silly series of stills for Hunger Magazine, illustrating a selection of Edward Lear's 'Nonsense' poems

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, “It is just as I feared! –
Two Owls and a Hen, four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard.

Edward Lear

Lord Whitney are very serious about being silly. They love childhood nostalgia, the absurd and irreverent. There is an Ostrich in the bathroom.

Working for Hunger Magazine, Lord Whitney took inspiration from the nonsense poetry of Edward Lear for this high-end fashion editorial feature.
Shot with Rankin’s keen eye and using Lord Whitney’s distinctively playful approach and refined colour palette, the project focused on a childlike way of seeing everyday objects as something that can become anything. A dog basket turned into a hot air balloon and a violin case became a huge cricket.
